Immersed in the heart of Valtènesi, on Lake Garda, we cultivate with care and dedication indigenous and national grape varieties that give life to extraordinary wines. Discover the grape varieties that play a leading role in our production, giving life to our rosé wines: Groppello, Marzemino, Sangiovese, Barbera and Rebo.

Groppello: The Heart of Valtènesi

Groppello is the native grape variety par excellence of the Valtènesi. With its compact clusters and small berries, this vine gives light, fresh wines characterised by delicate fruity and spicy notes. Groppello is the soul of our rosé and red wines, perfect for those seeking elegance and refinement.

Marzemino: The Aroma of Tradition

Marzemino, a historical grape variety of the region, is known for its intense colour and fruity aromas. This grape variety gives wines with a smooth and harmonious taste, with notes of cherries and berries. Thanks to its versatility, this grape variety can be used both on its own and in blends.

Sangiovese: The Classico Toscano in Valtènesi

Sangiovese, the main grape variety of Tuscany, finds an ideal terroir in the Valtènesi. Wines made from Sangiovese are known for their structure and longevity, with an aromatic profile ranging from floral notes to red fruits. Sangiovese contributes to the creation of wines with great character.

Barbera: The Freshness of Northern Italy

Barbera is a grape variety loved for its lively acidity and fruity taste. Originally from Piedmont, it has found a new habitat in the Valtènesi where it can best express its characteristics. Wines made from Barbera are fresh, balanced and perfect to accompany a wide range of dishes.

Rebo: Innovation in Valtènesi

Rebo is a hybrid grape variety born from a cross between Merlot and Teroldego, bringing a modern touch to the Valtènesi wine tradition. This innovative grape variety produces full-bodied red wines with intense and persistent aromas.

The wines of Cà Maiol

At Cà Maiol we produce the traditional rosé wines of the Valtènesi Riviera del Garda Classico DOC. In particular:

    • Roseri is a blend of the best Groppello, Marzemino, Barbera, Sangiovese and Rebo grapes that give life to an elegant, delicate and vibrant wine;
    • Groviglio, a pure Groppello, long and sophisticated.
